Nashville “the Music City”

Nashville: Endless entertainment in Music City, USA
Now more than ever, Nashville is on the radar. Named one of the “Best Places to Travel” by Travel + Leisure, one of the “Top Places to Go” by The New York Times, and one of the “Destinations You Don’t Want to Miss Out On” by Conde Nast Traveler, Nashville offers everything from an electrifying multigenre music scene, award-winning cuisine, historic homes, world-class art, a myriad of attractions, unique shopping, college and professional sports, and more.

Of course, music remains Nashville’s calling card to the world and is the very heart of the city. Long recognized as the world’s capital of country music, Music City’s sounds also include pop, rock, gospel, Americana, bluegrass, jazz, classical, contemporary Christian, blues and soul. With more than 120 live music venues across the city, there is something for everyone. You’ll catch pickers and songwriters all over town, in places like bluegrass venue Station Inn, the rock venue Exit/In, the honky-tonks on Broadway, the song-centered Bluebird Cafe or the legendary Ryman Auditorium.

There are hosts of attractions that have made Music City famous, such as the ultimate country music venue the Grand Ole Opry and the world-renowned Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The Johnny Cash Museum houses the most comprehensive collection of Johnny Cash artifacts in the world. The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum honors musicians – from stars to studio players – who represent all genres of music and features the very instruments used to record some of music’s greatest hits.

While Nashville has long been known for its expansive music scene, the talent and creativity of its culinary scene has recently put Nashville on the map. Dubbed “The Coolest, Tastiest City in the South” by Bon Appetit, Nashville’s creative spirit has infiltrated into its kitchens, turning them into the chef’s studios. From Southern fare to haute cuisine to quite literally everything in between, Nashville satisfies all palates.

With its charming mix of musical, historical and cultural flavors, Nashville is truly a city for all seasons and styles.

Amazing Nightlife

One of the must-do activities is walking down Lower Broadway, better known as Lower Broad. Dubbed the Honky Tonk Highway, Lower Broad is the heart of Downtown Nashville. The entertainment district comprises four street blocks. The stretch is packed with restaurants, music venues, and bars.

Lower Broad celebrates the country music scene in Music City. Many of its music bars (or honky-tonks) have historical significance. They’ve landed Lower Broad on the United States National Register of Historic Places. This district is the perfect place to see talented aspiring country musicians aim for the stars. Many bars don’t have a cover charge either, making it a no-brainer for country music fans.

At the museum, you can also watch little-seen archive footage of stars performing live. Learn more about your favorite country artists with its bibliographical reels & interactive exhibits.

After your museum visit, be sure to cross the street to check out the Music City Walk of Fame. Located in the Nashville Music Garden, the walk of fame pays tribute to country music’s biggest stars. Scan the star-studded pavement for legends like Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash.

Belle Meade Winery – Progeressive Food & Wine Pairing with Mansion Tour

West Tennessee’s legendary whole-hog BBQ tradition is the cornerstone of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint. Pat Martin learned the art and craft of West Tennessee-style smoke and meat 25 years ago in the tiny town of Henderson, TN before making Nashville his home. It became a consuming passion that eventually led to a business when he opened the first Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in October of 2006 in Nolensville, Tennessee – just south of Nashville. From the sides to the sauces, everything is made from scratch every single day – You’ll never find a freezer or microwave in our kitchens. But the bar-b-que actually starts a day ahead, as the process for smoking…
